You want to create a site that's pleasing to the eye, compelling and captivating, but understand with crucial designing mistakes such as poor navigation will surely guarantee their exit.

Content is KING and it's the most important and crucial part to creating your own web site. You could say that your site is like a personal or business card, it's the first online view that people get of your site. Hopefully, it won't be the last.

Your web site must sing to its audience, be addictive, and it must draw them in for a closer look. Many professional designers including software can analyze why some web pages work better than others. The whole idea is people must be willing to crawl through a sewer for what you are providing. Another reason for captivating your audience quickly is most people don't go beyond what's in front of their faces. Also, understand that most people tend to buy 'emotionally'. Therefore, you should focus primarily on the benefits when writing content. For higher priced products/services people tend to look further, particularly the features before making a purchase. So for higher priced products/services, you should write more about the benefits and provide the features too. For instance, when selling a computer or big screen TV the experienced visitor will want to see the features also. So in this case, provide both the benefits and features but with more emphasis on the benefits.
